No visible mint mark, this coin was issued in 1960 - two years before the first circulation issue. As a piedfort, it had twice the thickness and weight. A rarer issue with few known.

One interesting fact about the Pattern 1 Rupee - Victoria (Piedfort Pattern) 1860 from India - British (British India) is that it was designed by William Wyon, a renowned British engraver and designer, who also designed the famous "Britannia" coinage that was used in the United Kingdom.
