The 2008 strike was issued in a 14-piece set (150 sales) to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the £1 coin, as well as to commemorate the change to the new royal shield design in a dual Emblems of Britain & Royal Shield of Arms set (780 sales) and individually (674 sales). It was also struck in nickel-brass, silver proof and platinum proof.The 2013 strike was issued in a 3-coin set (17 sales) to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the £1 coin alongside the Crowned Royal Shield design by Derek Gorringe and the Royal Shield design by Matthew Dent. It was also struck in gold proof.
