The second of four Timothy Noad floral emblems, the others being the Oak and Rose for England, Flax and Shamrock for Northern Ireland and the Thistle and Bluebell for Scotland.Released as part of the Annual Silver proof sets (985 sales) in addition to individually (1,618 sales), as well as in a 2-coin set with the floral emblem of England (1,476 sales) whilst also being struck in nickel-brass, silver piedfort and gold proof.

Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the coin is that it features a unique design that showcases the national symbols of Wales, the leek and daffodil, on its reverse side. This design was created by sculptor and engraver, Robert Elderton, and it is only found on the silver proof version of the coin.
