Interesting fact
The 2013 £1 coin featuring the 4th portrait of Elizabeth II with the Leek and Daffodil design was the first £1 coin to be introduced with a new security feature - a unique "latent image" which changes from a "£" symbol to the number "1" when viewed from different angles. This feature was added to prevent counterfeiting and make the coin more difficult to fake.
