Comment

The first of four Edwina Ellis bridge designs, the Forth Railway Bridge is a cantilever railway bridge over the Firth of Forth in the east of Scotland, 9 miles (14 km) west of Edinburgh city centre. It is considered an iconic structure and a symbol of Scotland (having been voted Scotland's greatest man-made wonder in 2016) and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The coin was issued individually as well as in the Annual Piedfort set and later included in a 4-coin set with the other coins in the Bridge Series it was also struck in nickel-brass, silver proof and gold proof. Issue Limit: 10,000

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the coin is that it features a unique design of the Forth Bridge, a famous Scottish landmark, on its reverse side. The Forth Bridge is a cantilever bridge that spans the Firth of Forth, connecting the city of Edinburgh with the Kingdom of Fife. The bridge was completed in 1890 and is considered an iconic symbol of Scottish engineering and architecture. The coin's design captures the bridge's distinctive shape and structure, making it a fascinating collector's item for anyone interested in history, engineering, or Scottish culture.
