Comment
The coin is well know as he "Greenland Dollar" and is very a masterpiece for all crown and Scandinavian coin collectors. The Greenland Dollar is a bit of a misnomer in that it was struck for trade in the Orient, but includes the Danish island territories on the coin: Greenland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands. The design of the coin was inspired by the dominant Asian trade coin, the Spanish colonial pillar 8 Reales.Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 1 Piastre - Christian VII (Danish Asiatic Company Trade Coinage) 1777 from Denmark is that it was used as a trade coinage in the Danish colonies in the West Indies, specifically in the Danish West Indies, which is now known as the United States Virgin Islands.
