Comment

First series about Caribbean Fauna shows marine animals, dolphins, groupers, rays and swordfish, and also pelicans and flamingos, all native of the area.

Krause shows 25,000 pieces minted, but ECA (Cuban Minthouse) declares 10,000 only

Two varieties are known: with curved and plain waves to the left of the mintmark.

Interesting fact

The 1994 Cuban 1 Peso coin featuring dolphins has a unique feature - it has a colorized reverse side, which is not common in coins. The colorization process involves applying a thin layer of colored paint or enamel to the coin's surface, creating a visually striking effect. This coin's colorized reverse features a beautiful depiction of dolphins swimming in the ocean, adding an extra layer of beauty and collectibility to the coin.
