Celia Sánchez Manduley was a Cuban revolutionary. Being daughter of a physician, she helped her father attending patients, and knew the problems the low income people faced in their lives.
A few after Castro started actions on 1956, she joined the cause, and later became an important leader, created and commanded the troop "Mariana Grajales" nicknamed "Las Marianas", composed by women, that not only fought in the Revolution, but also played an important role as support for the rest of the troops.
After the triumph of the Revolution, was active in politics, reaching the position of Secretary of the Council of State, and other public functions.
