Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Pattern 1 Kuna (Pattern; Type 1, zinc) 1941 from Independent State of Croatia (Yugoslavia) made of Zinc weighing 1.9 g is that it was designed by the Croatian artist, Ivan Meštrović. Meštrović was a renowned sculptor and designer who was commissioned by the Ustaše regime to create the design for the coin. The coin features a stylized image of a kuna, a small mammal native to Croatia, on one side, and the Croatian coat of arms on the other. The coin was never put into circulation, however, due to the collapse of the Ustaše regime in 1945. Despite this, the coin remains a valuable collector's item and a symbol of Croatian art and history.
