One interesting fact about the Pattern 1 Kuna (Pattern; Type 1, gold) 1941 from Independent State of Croatia (Yugoslavia) made of Gold weighing 7.43 g is that it was designed by the Croatian artist, Ivan Meštrović. Meštrović was a renowned sculptor and designer who was commissioned by the Ustaše regime to create the design for the coin. The coin features a stylized image of a kuna, a small mammal native to Croatia, on one side, and the coat of arms of the Independent State of Croatia on the other. The use of gold for the coin's material was a symbol of the regime's ambition to create a prosperous and powerful state. Despite its interesting design and historical significance, the coin was never put into circulation and only a few samples were made, making it a rare and valuable collector's item.
