Xu Xiaohu was a prominent figure in the Chinese art world and was known for his work in various fields, including painting, calligraphy, and numismatics. He was commissioned by the Chinese government to design the Pattern 1 Jiao - Hongxian coin, which was minted in 1916 to commemorate the founding of the Republic of China.
