Comment
The strikes begin very soon after the liberation of Paris, with the available material. Thus the strikes dated 1941 and which weigh 1.30g are productions of September 1944 which one can easily distinguish from the original strikes because the sides are thinnerInteresting fact
The 1 Franc coin from this period was made of aluminum, which was a unusual choice for coins at the time. Aluminum was chosen because it was inexpensive, lightweight, and resistant to corrosion. However, the use of aluminum in coins was not without controversy, as some people believed that it was not a suitable material for coins due to its low value and lack of durability. Despite these concerns, the aluminum 1 Franc coin remained in circulation for many years and has become a sought-after collector's item.
