Comment
This Sterling Silver crown-sized dollar coin commemorates the visit to New Zealand in 1983 of the Prince and Princess of Wales and to acknowledge their recent wedding.Interestingly for this coin, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand decided to abandon the James Berry modified portrait used between 1979 and 1982, instead returning to the Arnold Machin second portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
The coin was issued in a capsule in a plush case.
A copper-nickel version of the coin was also issued (See link)
