Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Seated Liberty Dime is that it was the first dime to feature a portrait of Lady Liberty with her hair tied in a bun, which was designed by engraver Christian Gobrecht. This design change was made to symbolize the growing influence of Greek and Roman art on American coinage. Additionally, the coin's weight was increased to 2.5 grams, making it heavier than previous dimes, and it was made of a composition of 90% silver and 10% copper.
