Interesting fact
The "Philipsdaalder" coin minted in 1561 during the reign of Philip II in the Spanish Netherlands has an interesting feature. The coin's design includes a unique combination of two portraits on opposite sides, with Philip II's portrait on one side and his wife, Mary Tudor's, portrait on the other. This double-portrait design was a first in Dutch coinage and was meant to symbolize the unity between the two rulers and their kingdoms.
