Hartill says Sima Guang designed some coins of Zhezong, but does not specify which era he designed coins for. Because Sima Guang died in 1086, he could of only designed coins for the Yuanyou era.Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique combination of scripts, with the obverse bearing the inscription "Yuanyou Tongbao" in Seal script, while the reverse features the character "Shaan" in Shaan script. This blend of scripts is a distinctive feature of coins from the Northern Song dynasty, which ruled China from 960 to 1127 AD.
