Interesting fact

The ½ Speciedaler coin from Norway, issued during the reign of Christian VII (1776-1779), features an interesting design element. The obverse side of the coin bears the image of the king, while the reverse side features a crowned shield with the coat of arms of Norway. This design was a departure from the traditional design used on previous Norwegian coins, which typically featured the king's monogram. The use of the coat of arms on the ½ Speciedaler coin was a nod to the country's independence and sovereignty.
