Issued to commemorate HM The Queens's 90th birthday with a limited release effigy by James Butler MBE RA, only for 2016. This quarter sovereign was issued in a 5-coin set (498 sales, issue limit 500), in a 3-coin set (745 sales, issue limit 750) and as individual pieces (1,727 sales, issue limit 1,750).

Since 2009 the full sovereign has omitted the streamer from the helmet of St George however the other sovereign denominations continue to have the streamer.

Interesting fact
