The Brock tokens were struck in honor of Major General Sir Isaac Brock, commander of the British troops in Upper Canada (Ontario) and a hero of the War of 1812. This particular issue is a mule of the obverse of BR#723 (ship obverse and text reverse) and the reverse of BR#724 (monument obverse and 1816 reverse). It was struck from very worn dies.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Token ½ Penny (Sir Issac Brock) 1816 from Upper Canada is that it was issued during a time of currency shortages in the region. The coin was made of copper and weighed 5 grams, and it featured an image of Sir Isaac Brock, a prominent military leader and hero of the War of 1812. Despite its small denomination, the coin was widely accepted and used in everyday transactions, and it remains a sought-after collector's item among numismatists today.
