Gibbs states that "....all varieties are diagonally reeded although some are so faint as to appear plain." These tokens were the second issue but became too plentiful and were discredited by 1820.
Note: A coin with an obverse of UC-6 and reverse of UC-5 is a modern mule created by Pobjoy Mint.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Token ½ Penny (Sir Issac Brock) 1816 from Upper Canada is that it was made of copper, which was a common material for coins at that time, but it was also used as a substitute for the scarce silver coins. This coin was issued during a period of economic hardship and currency shortages in Upper Canada, and it was used as a way to alleviate the lack of small change in circulation. Despite its small denomination, the coin still holds significant historical value and is highly sought after by collectors today.
