House of Tudor 91485-1603), Elizabeth I (1558-1603), Seventh issue (1601-02).Spink lists this issue as being the 7th coinage although Krause lists as 6th (it is possible there is an error with Krause). Again according to Spink, there is a no mintmark variety from the 6th coinage (1582-1600) Sp#2581.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the ½ Penny - Elizabeth I (7th issue) ND (1601-1602) coin is that it was minted during a time of great change and turmoil in England. Queen Elizabeth I had recently died, and the throne had passed to her cousin, King James VI of Scotland, who would rule as James I of England. This coin was minted during the transition period, and it features a unique blend of the old and new regimes, with the traditional image of Elizabeth I on one side and the new monarch's initials (I.R.) on the other. This coin is a rare and fascinating piece of history that captures a moment of significant change in English monarchical rule.
