House of Tudor (1485-1603), Elizabeth I (1558-1603), Sixth issue (1582-1600), Silver halfpenny.Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the ½ Penny - Elizabeth I (6th issue) ND (1582-1600) coin is that it was minted during a time of great change and turmoil in England. Queen Elizabeth I, who ruled from 1558 to 1603, was the last of the Tudor dynasty and her reign saw the defeat of the Spanish Armada, the establishment of the Church of England, and the flourishing of the arts and literature. Despite these achievements, the coinage of the time was often irregular and of variable quality, with the ½ Penny coin being one of the smallest denominations minted during her reign.
