Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Token ½ Penny (Devon - Plymouth / Shepheard and Co) 1796 from United Kingdom is that it was issued during a time of severe coinage shortages in the late 18th century. To address this issue, many private companies and individuals, such as Shepheard and Co., were authorized to produce copper tokens that could be used as currency. This coin, with its unique design and weight, is a testament to the resourcefulness and resilience of the people of the United Kingdom during a period of economic challenge.
