Interesting fact

The ½ Gros coin from the County of Luxembourg, minted during the reign of Jean the Blind (1309-1346), was made of silver and weighed 1.84 grams. Despite its small size, this coin was an important part of the local economy and was used for everyday transactions. Its design featured an image of Jean the Blind on one side and the Luxembourg coat of arms on the other. Today, this coin is a rare and valuable collector's item, highly sought after by numismatists and historians interested in the history of Luxembourg and its currency.
