Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the ½ Gros coin featuring Elisabeth of Görlitz is that it was minted during a time of great turmoil in the Duchy of Luxembourg. The coin was issued during the reign of Elisabeth's husband, John of Bavaria, who was the Duke of Luxembourg from 1433 until his death in 1443. During this time, the Duchy was facing political and economic challenges, including conflicts with neighboring territories and the impact of the Hussite Wars. Despite these challenges, the coinage of the Duchy continued to be minted, with the ½ Gros coin being one example of the currency used during this period.
