Called kwart gouden schild met de adelaar in Dutch and quart d'écu a l'aigle in French.The "old" gouden schild / ecu with an eagle shield (and its subdivisions of 1/2 and 1/4) were minted between 1349 and 1358.
In 1373 they were replaced by a new gouden schild / ecu with a lion on the shield.
