Interesting fact
The Seated Liberty Half Dollar was designed by Mint Engraver Christian Gobrecht and was minted from 1839 to 1891. One interesting fact about this coin is that it was the first coin to feature the motto "In God We Trust," which was added to the coin in 1866. This motto was included on the coin to express the country's commitment to religious faith and has been featured on many US coins ever since.
