Interesting fact
The interesting fact about the Seated Liberty Half Dime is that it was designed by Christian Gobrecht, who was the Chief Engraver of the United States Mint from 1840 to 1844. Gobrecht's design features a seated figure of Liberty on the obverse (front) side of the coin, surrounded by 13 stars, representing the original 13 colonies. The reverse (back) side of the coin features an eagle with its wings spread, surrounded by a wreath and the inscription "HALF DIME." The coin was minted from 1838 to 1853 and was made of silver (.900) and copper (.100), weighing 1.34 grams.
