Comment

The "Church and Convent of the Company of Jesus" to which the coin is dedicated was founded between 1578 and 1582 by the Jesuit father Miguel de Fuentes. For a long time of wood, it was not until the early seventeenth century that the convent slowly began to be rebuilt with stone and brick structures.

Since its separation from Colombia in 1903, Panama has used the United States Dollar. These coins have the same specifications as the and circulate alongside it.

Interesting fact

The ½ Balboa coin from Panama features the Church of the Society of Jesus, also known as the Jesuit Church, which is a historic landmark in Panama City. The church was built in the 17th century and is one of the oldest churches in the Americas. It's interesting to note that the coin's design highlights the church's baroque architecture and intricate details, making it a unique and beautiful addition to any coin collection.
