Interesting fact
The Zweier ND (1384) coin from the City of Bern was made of silver, which was a common material used for coins in the medieval period. However, what makes this coin stand out is that it was one of the first coins to feature a unique design element - a small cross symbol located on the reverse side of the coin. This cross symbol was added to the coin's design to signify the coin's purity and authenticity, and it became a distinctive feature of Bernese coins in the later medieval period.
