Comment

The exact location of the wine glass tamgha pieces is not agreed upon. Southern Sogdiana seems to be the most popular, presumably based on the findings of one or a few specimens; however, Eastern Sogdiana and Ustrushana are both also plausible.

One coin of this particular type was found in Krasnaya Rechka, Kyrgyzstan.

The reading of the reverse may be something along the lines of zp'rt / rwd'y (Clear / Copper coin); however, when refering to the word Coin on coins, pny always seems to be used. More information is needed on the reading of this type.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it was minted during the reign of the Tang Dynasty in China, which was a time of significant cultural and economic exchange between China and other regions, including Sogdiana. The coin's design and style likely reflect the influences of both Chinese and Sogdian cultures.
