Interesting fact
The Trihemidrachm - Leukidas (Hypata) coin features an image of a mythical creature called a Griffin on its obverse side. The Griffin is a creature with the body of a lion and the head and wings of an eagle, and it was considered a symbol of protection and strength in ancient Greek mythology. The inclusion of the Griffin on the coin suggests that the people of Ainianes (Thessaly) valued these qualities and wanted to convey them through their currency.
