Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Tostão "O-P" – João III (3rd type, Porto) ND (1555-1557) coin from Portugal is that it features a unique design element known as the "Porto mintmark," which is a small letter "P" located below the king's crown on the obverse side of the coin. This mintmark was used to indicate that the coin was minted at the Porto mint, which was one of the three mints operating in Portugal during the 16th century. The presence of this mintmark makes the coin particularly valuable to collectors and numismatists.
