Interesting fact

The Tetrobol coin from Metapontion (Lucania) is interesting because it features a unique blend of Greek and indigenous influences in its design. The obverse side of the coin depicts the head of the Greek goddess Athena, while the reverse side features a stag, which was a symbol of the indigenous Lucanian people. This blending of cultures reflects the rich cultural heritage of the region and highlights the exchange of ideas and artistic traditions between the Greek colonizers and the native populations.
