Interesting fact
The Tetras coin was used as a form of currency during the Punic Wars, which were a series of conflicts fought between ancient Rome and Carthage, a powerful city-state in North Africa, from 264 BC to 146 BC. The coin's design featured the image of a dolphin, which was a symbol of the Carthaginian god Melqart, and the coin's value was equivalent to one-fourth of a shekel, a unit of weight and currency used in ancient Israel. Despite its small size, the Tetras coin played an important role in the economy of Punic Sicily and was widely used in trade and commerce throughout the region.
