Interesting fact

The obverse (front) side of the coin features a portrait of Xanthippos, the ruler of Kos, while the reverse (back) side features a depiction of a winged horse (Pegasus) and the inscription "KOS" in ancient Greek letters. This coin was used as a means of payment and trade during Xanthippos' rule and was considered a symbol of the island's wealth and prosperity.
