Interesting fact
The Tetradrachm - Pelopides coin features a unique combination of two different animal symbols on its obverse and reverse sides. The obverse side depicts a lion's head, while the reverse side features a bull's head. This dual-animal design was a common feature of ancient Greek coins, but the specific combination of a lion and a bull was unique to the coins of Erythrai. This design choice may have been meant to symbolize the city's strength and power, as both the lion and the bull were considered powerful animals in ancient Greek culture.
