Interesting fact
The obverse of the coin features a portrait of King Nikomedes I, while the reverse depicts a mythological scene of Apollo standing on a tripod, surrounded by dolphins and a Nereid. This design was a common motif in ancient Greek coinage and symbolized the king's connection to the gods and the sea.
