Interesting fact
The obverse side of the coin features a portrait of the Greek goddess Athena, while the reverse side depicts a stag, which was a symbol of the island of Kos. The stag was also associated with the goddess Artemis, who was revered as the protector of the island. This coin is a great example of how ancient Greek cities used their coins as a way to express their cultural and religious beliefs.
