Interesting fact
The Tetradrachm coin from Kyrene (Kyrenaica) was used as a form of currency in the ancient Greek city-state of Kyrene, which was located in present-day Libya. The coin features an image of the Greek goddess Athena on one side and the Kyrenian symbol of a silphium plant on the other. Silphium was a valuable plant that grew only in Kyrene and was used as a form of currency in the ancient world. The Tetradrachm coin was worth four drachmas, which was a significant amount of money at the time.
