Interesting fact
The Tetradrachm coin from Punic Motye features a unique blend of Greek and Carthaginian influences in its design. The obverse side of the coin depicts the profile of a bearded man, possibly a representation of the Carthaginian god Melqart, while the reverse side features a Greek-style owl and the inscription "ΜOTYE" in Greek letters. This blending of cultural influences reflects the complex history of Sicily during the Punic period, when Carthage and Greece vied for control of the island.
