Interesting fact
The Aetolian League Tetradrachm was one of the first coins to feature a portrait of a real person. The coin features a portrait of the Aetolian leader, Agathocles, on one side and a depiction of the goddess Athena on the other. This was a departure from the traditional practice of featuring mythological figures or abstract designs on coins, and marked a shift towards more realistic and human-centered designs.
