Interesting fact

The Tetradrachm coin from Syros features a unique design on its reverse side, depicting a scallop shell surrounded by a wreath of leaves. This design was used to symbolize the island's maritime trade and its connection to the sea. The scallop shell was also a symbol of fertility and prosperity in ancient Greek culture, reflecting the importance of the sea and its bounty to the island's economy and way of life.
