The Talar - August II Mocny (Drezno) 1706-1707 coin from the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was minted during the reign of August II the Strong, who was also known as the "King of Silver." This nickname was given to him because he was known for his love of silver and his efforts to increase the production of silver coins during his reign. In fact, the Talar coin was one of the most widely used silver coins during his reign and was considered to be a symbol of the king's power and wealth.
