Interesting fact

The Szeląg koronny coin was used as a means of payment in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth during the reign of Sigismund III Vasa, who was the King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania from 1583 to 1616. What's interesting about this coin is that it was made of silver, which was a valuable and sought-after metal at the time. In fact, the coin was worth 1/3 of a Polish crown, which was the standard unit of currency in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The coin's design featured an image of Sigismund III Vasa on one side and the Polish coat of arms on the other. Despite its value, the coin was not widely used, as it was mainly used for large transactions and was not practical for everyday use.
