Comment
Date range is artificial, as the countermarking had to be done after 1805.This coin is not mentioned by Scho/II. Possibly there is a mix-up with Scho/II 1423 which has a countermark SM in a beaded circle with a fleur-de-lis.
Some sources claim that the countermark 'SM' does not exist as it is actually the 'STM' countermark where the 'T' has worn off
Interesting fact
The Cayenne-Stuiver coin from Sint Maarten (Netherlands Antilles) is interesting because it has a unique countermark, C16 + fleur-de-lis, which was used to indicate that the coin was issued by the French colonial administration in Cayenne, French Guiana, and was also valid for use in Sint Maarten. This coin was issued during the time when Sint Maarten was under French rule, and it features a billon composition, which is a mixture of copper and silver.
