Comment

The difference between RRC# 28/1 and RRC# 29/1 is mainly based on the engraving style which would be coarser for RRC# 29/1.

This classification, however, is barely perceptible and is mainly based on the sole Crawford's notes.

Although subjects of opposition and intense debate, the known examples with a mark of value XXX on the obverse are until now considered to be contemporary forgeries.

Interesting fact

The Dioscuri Stater coin features the images of the twin brothers Castor and Pollux, who were revered as gods in ancient Rome.
