Interesting fact
The obverse (front) side of the coin features the image of a youthful Alexander the Great, wearing a lion's skin headdress and carrying a spear, while the reverse (back) side depicts a seated Zeus holding a scepter and a small statue of Victory. This design was meant to symbolize Alexander's divine right to rule and his connection to the powerful gods of ancient Greece.
