Interesting fact

The Phokaia Stater was one of the first coins to feature an image of a mythical creature, in this case, a griffin. The griffin was a symbol of protection and strength in ancient Greek mythology, and its depiction on the coin may have been intended to convey the power and prestige of the city of Phokaia.
