Interesting fact

The Stater coin from Chios (Ionia) was used as a form of currency in ancient Greece and its design was inspired by the natural environment of the island. The obverse side of the coin features a lion's head, which was a symbol of strength and power, while the reverse side features a dolphin, which was a common sight in the waters surrounding Chios. The use of these symbols highlights the connection between the natural world and the currency used by the people of Chios.
